PROGRAMMABLE ADVANCED IGNITION SYSTEM

Upgrading of performances for standard engines and racing engines.
Set of :
- 1 infrared cell replacing the breaker and the capacitor
- 1 cogged disk replacing the igniter cams.
- 1 electronic unit replacing the mechanisms of the centrifugal
advance curve (flyweights and springs)
- 1 MINITEL connecting cord (the Minitel is the French telecommunications system equivalent to the British Viewdata)
Operation :
The ignition signal is got by an infrared beam (emitted by the cell) and it's cut off with the cogged disk which is mounted on the igniter shaft.
This basic signal is then processed by the electronic unit which is driving the coil main circuit.
This principle makes it possible to get rid of all the failures caused by the mechanical components of an ignition system with breaker.
There's no comparison in the results :
- no more rebound limiting the engine speed
- no more fluctuation in the camshaft angle
- no more mismatch between the ignitions
- no more parts wear
- no more misadjustments
- no more oxidation
- no more vibrations caused by the camshaft
- no more failures caused by moisture etc.
Electronic unit capabilities
it has 2 main stages :
- a first stage processing the basic signal of the cell
- a second stage amplifying that signal
1- The signal processing :
this stage of the unit runs :
- the camshaft angle (depending on the number of cylinders to be dealt with)
- the ignition point, calculated every engine r.p.m.
- the maximum use engine speed (ignition shutdown)
- the lighting-up of a warning light for a given engine speed
2- The amplification :
the signal is amplified after the processing and makes it possible to fit a standard coil.
The performance of the power transistor allow voltages up to 16 V and the use of conventional coils whose primary resistance goes down to 1 Ohm.
The programming :
the following items are programmable :
- the number of signals, depending on the number of cylinders
- the camshaft angle, depending on the numbers of cylinders
- the ignition point, from 500 up to 12.000 r.p.m., by pitch of 100 r.p.m., from 0 to 35 °, the original stalling allowing an even bigger angle
- the maximum use engine speed, between 500 and 12.000 r.p.m.
- the lighting-up rate of the warning light, from 500 up to 12.000 r.p.m..
These data are backed up on a EEPROM. This programming is burned by our workshop but can be altered by the user himself with his Minitel device.

Lots of drivers successfully used this ignition system and we congratulate them on their results :
- BESSAC : 1997 Champion of the racing circuit federal Trophy with a A310 V6 3L
- LEGUYADER : single-seater F3 Cosworth 1300 cc 195 CV 11.500 r.p.m.
=> 21 races, 21 class victories, 12 scratches (1997)
- MALATESTE ( F2 1100%) - DUBOIS - BURGEVIN - GRALL ( JIDE GRF)
- TAILLANDIER A 310/4 : second in the France autocross 2RM championship.
